The Dirty Hat Classic
Mike had a lasting impact on Northern Kentucky baseball. Twelve local high school teams will be participating in the 4th "Dirty Hat Classic." This tournament will be held annually to honor Mike and his love for the game. It will feature concessions, great baseball, and a assortment of raffle items that will benefit the Mike Epplen Philanthropic Fund.
Participating teams for 2024 will include the following: Covington Catholic, St. Henry, Holy Cross High School, Beechwood High School, Conner High School, Campbell Co. High School, Highlands, Ryle, Lloyd Memorial, Dixie Heights, Bishop Brossard & Simon Kenton!
The event will take place over a two day span (April 12th & 13th), at Thomas More Stadium! We would like to say a big thank you to Don Tragessar for use of the field that weekend!

Wild Boar Wiffle Ball

The Epplen Pig Roast began as a family gathering during the summer of 1999. Over time, it evolved into an annual event supporting many charities throughout the years.
The Wild Boar Wiffle Ball Tournament is being established to continue the legacy of The Epplen Pig Roast and will embody the spirit of the original event with all proceeds benefiting the Mike Epplen Philanthropic Fund.
This tournament will be an annual event taking place over Labor Day weekend at the DCCH (Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home) fields in Fort Mitchell, KY.
Wild Boar Wiffle Ball will occur on August 31, 2024… Rain or Shine! There will be a Wiffle Ball Tournament, Beer Sales, Water/Pop Sales, Bounce House, Kona Ice, Grand Marshall/Name the Pig Drawing, Merchandise Online Shop, and food throughout the day.
